Gatlinburg, Tennessee is a prime tourist destination that is filled with action packed adventures. Day or night there is never a dull and moment. You can visit the quaint little shops in the light of day or patrol the dark and somewhat wild street of the night. However, you plan to spend your time in Gatlinburg, you are guaranteed to have an awesome time.
When you get to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, you will need a place to stay for the duration of your visit. The Howard Johnson Inn will accommodate your needs says Hojogatlinburg.com. The weekend price is seventy dollars for a room with two double beds and a spectacular view. This is a great place to stay. For dog lovers, consider leaving Rover at home because the Howard Johnson Inn doesn?t allow pet. The Howard Johnson Inn is located in downtown Gatlinburg on 200 East Parkway, and right around the corner from all the wonderful attractions Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has to offer.
After unloading your luggage consider going down to the Peddler. The Peddler might be able to satisfy your wants and desires. The Peddler carries everything for fresh fish, to mouthwatering chicken and even marinated steaks. The Peddler is a classy restaurant so dress accordingly. Expect the cost for the meal to be a bit on the "pricey" side. The Peddler is located on the corner where River Road intersects with Ski Mountain Road.
If unwilling to empty your wallet on one nights feast, take a stroll over to Pancake Pantry where excellent breakfast is served for a moderate price. The Pancake Pantry is located on the corner where Cherokee Orchard road meets Parkway. According to Gatlinburg.com, the Pancake Pantry has twenty-four different types of pancakes, an array of waffles, and they serve soup and sandwiches for lunch. The Pancakes Pantry serves lunch after eleven thirty and breakfast all day for those of you who eat bacon and eggs for supper.
After you have had your fill at the Pancake Pantry, consider heading over to Camp Thunder Fun Center. Camp Thunder Fun Center is located right across the street from Ripley?s Aquarium of the Smokies, where you can ride go-karts at speeds up to twenty-five miles per hour on an outdoor track. "Ride till your hearts content," says Camp Thunder Fun Center, but not in the rain as that is a recipe for certain disaster. There is no doubt that you will find all sorts of fun and thrilling adventures at Camp Thunder Fun Center. For instance, have you ever found yourself dangling from a giant rock wall, or master the art of war in their arcade. Unlike the race track, you can scale the rock wall or have foreign adventures in the arcade rain or shine because they both are indoors. If, all that fun has increased your hunger that is no problem. You can just go to Camp Thunder Fun Center?s cafeteria where you will find hotdogs, hamburgers, and surprisingly a variety of dip in dots.
If all this excitement doesn?t fulfill your needs, surely whitewater rafting will. The Nantahala, Big Pigeon, and Ocoee are classified as class two to four sized white-water rivers, so for those who don?t get out on the river much you might want to hold on. You will have the time of your life getting soaked and blazing down these rivers says RaftingintheSmokies.com. The price per kayak is thirty dollars and five dollars for each person after that. The rivers are located off of Interstate Forty on exit four hundred forty seven, about an hour and a half from Gatlinburg. It is also a good idea to make reservations and dress accordingly.
After all this excitement contemplate about taking it easy for a couple hours. A great place for doing that is a little place called "The Village". Inside The Village you will find twenty-seven shops and six restaurants. Many call it a shopping utopia. The Village carries everything from essential tools for camping at The Day Hiker to Christmas novelty items and decorations at The Christmas Tree. Remember it may be a good idea to tell your male significant other about The Day Hiker in order for him to come.
Speaking about Christmas, what is there to in Gatlinburg in the winter season? Does flying down the side of a steep mountain side thrill you at all? If it does, Ober Gatlinburg wants you to come down and test-drive their eight ski slopes. Amateurs can scoot down the Cub Way slope while the experts blaze down the infamous Grizzle. For the novice Ober has many ski instructors ready to teach you upon your arrival. The price per ticket is twenty dollars for juniors and twenty eight for adults on non holidays. Ober even has America?s largest aerial tramway so you and your love ones can admire the beautiful landscape of the Smokies. Ober makes its own snow so be careful as it gets a little icy around nightfall.
The scenic beauty of the Smokies is breath taking. The attractions Gatlinburg have to offer are awesome. The combination of these two things will certainly make your trip to Gatlinburg one to remember. Is waiting in line and paying a little more worth it to you?
