Teaching Philosophy

Everyone has a teacher that they remember as being their favorite or their worst. And in my case when I was in my worst teacher?s class in Jr. High he was my favorite teacher at that time. And with my best teacher I remember him being my favorite all through out high school also.

My bad teacher was my math teacher in seventh grade. When I was in his class I loved him to death. He was the high school basketball coach and in two years I was going to be playing for him so I didn?t do anything in his class. When I was in seventh grade I was taking math 7 and I was pretty good at it but closer to the end of the year I just went to class and sat beside him, he gave me the answer book, and I copied all of my work. The next year instead of me going to math 8 he moved me into pre-algebra and I was doing pretty good in that class until closer to midterms and he started giving me the answer book to copy out of again. He thought that I was good in pre-algebra so only having a half of a semester of that he moved me up into algebra. Of course from then on I did really well since all I had to do was go in and copy the answers so we could talk about basketball after I finished but now I despise him for doing that to me. When I went up to high school I failed geometry and then I had to take applied geometry and applied algebra because I had no clue how to do any thing. When I came to college I had to take math 90 and 91 and now I am finally realizing that I can do math pretty good but my jr. high teacher just messed my confidence and me up.

On the other hand my best teacher was my homeroom teacher and my WV history teacher in high school. He was always really hard on me from ninth grade to twelfth grade. I first had him in ninth for history and I bet he made me write over 2000 sentences because I was always talking. But I still remember what I learned in his class. After I had him for history he was just my homeroom teacher from then on out but I was his student aid my senior year. He became a teacher that I could call a friend. I talked to him about all of my boy problems and everything else that I could think of. He talked to me like I was a person instead of just some high school punk. I have even been over to his house a few times just to say hi and take all of his food. Still to this day I love him to death. He came to my wedding this past June and we e-mail each other all of the time.

Like I said before everyone has their best and worst teacher and if they are anything like me their best when they were in school is their worst now or vice versa.
